DAV NATIONAL SERVICE FOUNDATION (“Corporation”) PRIVACY POLICY

The Corporation recognizes that in the course of its operation, it comes into possession of the personal information of donors and other persons having an interest in our programs. For these purposes, “Personal Information” means any information about a person, however acquired. It includes, without limitation, a person’s name, physical address, telephone number(s), email addresses, and credit card/bank account information.

The Corporation acquires Personal Information in a variety of ways, including, without limitation, through the recognition and preservation of data about website visitors and through the voluntary submission of data to the Corporation by individuals. The privacy rules articulated herein apply to all Personal Information in possession of the Corporation, regardless of how acquired.

The Corporation takes the issue of privacy very seriously and has thus adopted the following policies regarding the treatment of Personal Information.

PERSONAL INFORMATION ABOUT DONORS

  1. The Corporation will not trade, sell or share any donor’s Personal Information with anyone outside of DAV.
  2. The Corporation will not send to its donors any mailings, including fundraising mailings, on behalf of any other organization.
  3. All credit card and banking information of donors is handled in accordance with best industry practices. Online donations to the Corporation are processed over a secure connection between the donor’s computer and the Corporation’s server. Credit card information is encrypted when submitted to the processor. The Corporation regularly verifies the continuing PCI compliance of its processor. Credit card and banking information is not stored by the Corporation.
  4. Personal Information of donors will be used by the Corporation only for the following purposes:
    1. Toencourage financial and other support of programs for disabled veterans;
    2. To process donations (including provision of receipts);
    3. To respond to inquiries and other requests for information; and
    4. To provide timely and important information concerning issues related to the mission of the organization.


Any donor is free to review or change his/her Personal Information possessed by the Corporation. To initiate these processes, please contact us by email (nsf@dav.org) or phone (859-441-7300).

Any donor desiring to have his/her name or other Personal Information removed from any of our lists or to restrict its use should contact the Corporation in one of the following ways:

This Policy was adopted by the Board of Directors of the Corporation on July 16, 2018 and shall remain in effect until amended or rescinded.
